Every few years, a rare Black Moon graces the skies. In the Lunaverse, a Black Moon isn’t just an astronomical curiosity; it’s a potent source of magic and mischief.

For those unfamiliar with this celestial phenomenon, a seasonal Black Moon occurs when we get four new moons in a single astronomical season instead of the usual three, with the third one earning this deliciously dark title. These seasonal Black Moons are even rarer than their monthly cousins, happening only once every 33 months or so.
Unlike its flashier cousin the Blue Moon, the Black Moon is invisible to our eyes, hiding completely in Earth’s shadow. In werewolf lore (and Luna’s world), this cosmic vanishing act has always been significant. When the moon withdraws its light, the veil between worlds grows gossamer-thin. Shapeshifters find their transformations unpredictable, witches discover their spells taking unexpected turns, and ancient magic that normally slumbers begins to stir.
Some packs fear the Black Moon, locking themselves away until its influence passes. Others embrace it as a night of ultimate freedom, when the usual rules don’t apply and impossible things become possible. Luna, being Luna, tends to stumble right into the chaos with her trademark combination of courage and questionable decision-making.
Meanwhile, I’ve been busy conjuring the next Luna White adventure. I can’t spill all the secrets yet, but let’s just say Luna will find herself bargaining with a powerful witch and unraveling a murderous plot to sacrifice most of Las Vegas.
Thank you for joining me in the Lunaverse. Your excitement keeps me writing, especially on the dark moon nights when the words flow like moonlight through shadows.
Warmly,
Veronica
