Did you know why this is Luna’s favorite month?
As we step into the New Year, it's not just about new beginnings; it's also a time steeped in ancient lore and celestial wonder. The first full moon after the winter solstice, known as the Wolf Moon, casts its luminous spell over the January night sky.
The Wolf Moon, named by the Native Americans and early Colonial Europeans, evokes images of howling wolves echoing through the still, frosty forests. This moon has always been shrouded in mystique and folklore, often seen as a symbol of endurance and strength in the face of the harsh winter. In our own urban fantasy worlds, such celestial events often mirror the internal struggles and triumphs of our beloved characters.
And that’s precisely why it’s Luna’s favorite.
It’s also my favorite time of the year. I have my own rituals and resolutions. Every January, I set aside time for thinking about the upcoming year. Amidst the chill of the night (yes, even here in Las Vegas the nights are chilly), I find solace with my steaming cup of tea beside the keyboard, contemplating the year ahead.
This is also the time when I focus on setting realistic and meaningful goals. Gone are the days of unattainable resolutions; now, it's about building sustainable habits. Whether it’s taking leisurely walks, choosing healthier snacks, or consistently adding to Luna’s story, these small, daily actions contribute to larger successes.
No more marathon training for me. Twenty-six miles? Instead, I now aim for twenty-six blocks.
No more extreme diets. Instead, I added more fruits and veggies to my pantry.
And no more ten-hour writing sessions trying to churn out 10,000 words in a day, followed by a week of recovery. Instead, I try to add to Luna’s continuing story each day.
Last year, my ambitious goal was to publish thirteen new books. With ten completed, I’m proud of that achievement and excited to surpass it this year. It’s all about refining my routines and staying dedicated.
I invite you to join Luna and me in the adventures that await us in 2024. Make keeping up with our adventures one of your attainable goals (she said shamelessly). You can start here on my Amazon Author Page.
Your support has been invaluable, and I look forward to sharing more stories with you.
